Make up and body crush: Lucy Mecklenburgh (TOWIE)

(I do not own any of these pictures)

Are there any other die hard TOWIE fans out there? 80% of the time I just watch it to admire their makeup. Yes, I know the amount of surgery a few of them have had and the amount of makeup they wear etc, etc but  it can't be denied that the likes of Lauren Pope and Chloe Sims have stunning makeup albeit its not the most natural look. But then there's Lucy, wow. She is definitely a natural beauty! She's had her ups and down in the makeup and fake tan stakes but now, she has definitely achieved a look that suits her beautifully.

Wow, wish I looked that good with no eye make up...

This would be my ideal every day makeup look

I personally loved her blonde hair, I think she's got one of them lucky faces and skin tones which can pull anything off!

She is definitely my thinspiration, what a lovely figure

I think she is the only cast member who actually looks their age.. The rest may be beautiful but jeez they do look a bit older...

Does anyone else have any makeup inspirations from the show? Or are they a bit too made up for anyone elses liking? And of my oversea visitors have you heard of TOWIE?

Much love, glitterati x

Collection 2000 Cream Puff Moisterising Lip Cream in Powder Puff 2 - Review

This was one of my other purchases from Superdrug yesterday and cost me £2.99, I quite like Collection 2000 for their nail varnishes and usually always buy their loose powder... I loved their mineral powder which was dirt cheap and so good but it got discontinued :(

Anyway... I've seen this 'lip cream' a few times and I love their colours; 'Cotton Candy', 'Fairy Cake', 'Powder Puff' and 'Angel Delight'. I want to describe them as pastel colours but they're too dark to be classed as pastel I think.. I'm not sure but they look so lovely and matte.

I brought 'Powder Puff' which is an orange/tan based nude colour. In my younger teen years I was one of them girls obsessed with 'foundation lips' *cringe* and ever since I've been looking for the right nude colour for me as opposed to white, crusty looking lips.

It is described as a 'Moisterising Lip Cream' which gives a 'Velvety soft, matt finish'

When I tried it yesterday it just made my lips look really chapped, even though I am a keen lip balm-er, I just wiped it off and thought I would try it properly today...

Basic packaging, cute little cloud design to the left of the tube
Colour swatch on my hand, and doe foot applicator
Wow, I did not realise how unphotogenic and wonky my face is! haha
+ Above picture = How the colour looks on my lips
Can you see the colour looks uneven? And that my lips look slightly chapped?
It's still quite glossy for a matte 'cream' aswell.

This picture shows how my lips looked just half an hour later... They look so so so chapped and dry, but they're not.

Pros:
1. Lovely but limited range of colours, although I've only purchased this one so far!
2. It's got a nice vanilla smell although still has the cheap, chemical taste but what do you expect from a cheap lipgloss! (Not unbearable)

Cons:
1. If you're after a matte finish then this is more glossy, still nice though
2. Wouldn't describe as moisterising as it made my lips look chapped
3.Use sparingly, not very buildable

I think I will definitely try the other colours, maybe this colour is just hard to work with as it is so light... 'Cotton Candy' looks scrumptious!

Anyone else had better luck with these lip creams? Does anyone recommend any other colours?

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hour Foundation (actual review)

Well I definitely did not think I would be reviewing this foundation only a few hours after but for me it was quite disastrous...

I so wanted to love this foundation, when I applied some over my existing foundation earlier (combination of Fit Me and Dream Matte Foam) It went on like a dream and I looked flawless! However when I put it on just before work I turned into a horrid grey, patchy mess - not great when you work with a few hotties... I explained this dilemma to a colleague, she agreed with me about how bad it looked.. (mm yeah thanks for that!) So there I am washing and scrubbing my face with water in the toilets and having to wait till my break to reapply my Fit Me foundation (good job I seem to lug my entire make up collection around with me..) but me + no foundation = not a pretty sight.

Pros:
1. It is a good coverage, I would definitely say the top end of medium coverage
2. I strangely like the smell, has a kind of fresh smell
3. I love their range of colours, they all have a nice warm, slightly yellow undertones, rather than the pinky-ness like Maybelline foundations seem to have...
4. Works well mixed with other foundations...

Cons:
1. I looked horrendous
2. I think a little bit of this definitely goes a long way, you need to get the balance right and I would  reccomend to make sure you moisterise and probably prime your skin beforehand as it is quite difficult to apply evenly
3. For any of you out that only like a light foundation this is definitely not for you, it does feel quite heavy on your face
4. It seemed to cling to the top of my eyebrows and the outer corner of my eye ( you can see the darker patch in the picture)
Mixed emotions, looks quite flawless yet patchy at the same time.. How does that work?
I'm not ready to give up on this foundation yet, one of my friends swears by it! Tomorrow I think I will use a small amount of it mixed with my other foundations and see how it goes. Has anyone else tried this foundation? I'm not sure if it's just cos I have oily skin but would love to hear from any of you. Glitterati x

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hour Foundation

I am forever on the hunt for a foundation that lasts longer than an hour on my face (no exaggeration), more often than not I wear a combination of foundations and a bucket load of pressed powder...

Well anyway, I left my loose powder at a club on a drunken night out (oops) so perfect excuse to get some new make up! Yay! Today I went to Superdrug and brought a foundation, powder.. and a lipgloss all for £10.17 as I have an NUS card (definitely worth the £12 a year if you're a student!)

I bought Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 hour Foundation in Natural Beige (400) On the bottle it reads "Sweat, heat, humidity and transfer proof for up to 25 hours. Enriched with a revitalizing Mineral Complex and moisterising Aqua Primer. Skin feels energized and hydrated all day"
I chose this foundation as it was cheap (£7.99)and because the last 2 foundations I brought were Maybelline so I thought I would try something a little different... Also another reason why I chose this was because it didn't have SPF, bad that this is a reason for choosing it but I have had a horrible time with SPF foundations recently i.e. a pale, pale face and orange neck whenever a photo has been taken of me.. Not a good time at all....

Well I have to leave for work in 10 minutes and I need to get ready, eek! So I am going to apply this foundation before a 5 hour shift at work and see how it goes.. Knowing my face I'll have to top it up on my break but you never know. A proper review is yet to come! Sorry that this will be in two parts but I just wanted to get started on this blog, hopefully thgis will be the first and last time I do this. Goodbye for now and wish me and my shiny face good luck at work and lets hope I stay looking like I haven't just shoved my head in the chip fryer... Much love, Glitterati x

First blog...

So here it goes... As a keen follower of several beauty and fashion blogs, I was encouraged to start up my own by my Mum. I am forever saying to her about the kind of blog that I wanted to find but couldn't... As a blogger herself my mum has been saying to me for months now I should try and do my own. I am in no way a beauty expert and definitely not a fashion expert but I love everything beauty related and I like to look good (and often quite fail). Another thing about this blog, and myself, I'm on a budget so whatever I write about will be low cost, it is so heartbreaking reading amazing reviews on other blogs and then seeing the not so amazing price tag that comes with it... Also I have a habit of rabbiting on so I apologise in advance for writing about alot of junk that you quite frankly don't care about! Much love, Glitterati x
